Lease Accounting Overview of New Standards and their effect on Government Contractors

Speaker: David Semendinger – Aronson

Join David and the MACPA on Sept. 24 to learn about the new Lease Standard (ASU 2016-12) which supersedes the existing lease accounting standard and sets out principles for the recognition, measurement, presentation and disclosures of leases. ASU 2016-12 is delayed until reporting periods after 12/15/20 (2021 calendar year).

The U.S. Supreme Court’s 2018 Wayfair decision and other developments are impacting how states view nexus for both income taxes and sales taxes in 2019 and beyond. Our speaker will discuss how government contractors should be thinking about such things as where are their activities subject to state income tax, how is income apportioned, what activities are subject to sales tax and where.
