Economic Business and Environment Update

Description

While key indicators show the United States and much of the world is in a period of economic expansion, a tremendous amount of uncertainty and risk still pose challenges for organizations across the country.  Meanwhile, information being presented in the news and other media outlets is often wrought with subjective commentary, making it more difficult to assess the true impact of certain policies.  This course is designed to explore current and ongoing economic issues facing the U.S., looking at official/source data to allow the CPA or financial professional to objectively analyzing possible ramifications for their organization.

Learning Objectives

At the completion of the course, the student will:

  • Understand key economic indicators across the U.S. and what they may mean for your organization.
  • Analyze current budget deficits at the federal, state, and local levels and the potential impact on the future economy.
  • Understand and analyze the issues surrounding international trade agreements, tariffs, and its impact on business, inflation, interest rates, and unemployment.
  • Analyze current national legislative issues and the potential impact on business.
