Grandma Hall’s Banana Bread

Submitted by Dee Sullivan, MACPA

I am #MACPAgrateful for… family, remembering past traditions and making new ones.

Growing up in the military we always traveled to visit family during Thanksgiving and around Christmas. Traveling to visit family pretty much was our wonderful family tradition. As the family has spread even further away and the matriarchs and patriarchs have passed on, those have become treasured memories.

Now I am grateful for my wonderful husband of 10 years. He loves Christmas – Christmas movies, Christmas music… Over the years we’ve started a few traditions of our own, including baking. He is a great cook and baker and I know the holidays are here when he pulls out the Joy of Cooking book (to make his yummy gingerbread men) and his Grandma Hall’s banana bread recipe. I never had the opportunity to meet her, but I love this little square with the original recipe she typed for him…it’s a lovely memory of a past tradition we carry on. W

Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday and all the best in health and happiness in the new year!
