Instructor Biography

W. A. Broadus Jr., CPA, CGFM

W.A. (Bill) Broadus, Jr., CPA, CGFM W.A. Broadus, Jr., CPA, PC/Manassas, Virginia Bill Broadus heads his own professional corporation, and is currently practicing as a consultant in the governmental and nonprofit areas. Prior to that, he was employed nearly 28 years with the U.S. Government Accountability Office. During his tenure, he served in a number of diverse assignments with increasing responsibilities in both the Cincinnati Regional Office and the Washington, D.C. Headquarters' Office. He worked with federal, state, and local governmental officials in the financial management areas. Mr. Broadus is currently Chairman of the AICPA National Government and Non-Profit Training Program Committee, past member of the AICPA CPE Executive Committee, a past member of the AICPA Auditing Standards Board, past member of AICPA counsel, member of the American Institute of CPA's, the American Accounting Association, the Association of Government Accounts, the Ohio and Virginia Societies of CPA's and a past member of the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business Accounting Accreditation Committee. In addition to his numerous professional affiliations, Mr. Broadus is an esteemed author, writing many articles that have been published in the AICPA's Journal of Accountancy. He authors continuing education courses for the AICPA, and previously co-authored "Federal Audit Policies and Procedures Update", published by Harcourt Brace and a monthly government and nonprofit newsletter by Harcourt Brace. Mr. Broadus is past president of the Virginia Society of CPAs and the Association of Government Accountants. He has received innumerous awards and recognition by the GAO, the AGA, the Virginia Society of CPA's, and the AICPA.
