When I click on a URL (link) in an e-mail, it doesn't work. Why?
There are a few reasons why the link in your e-mail may not work. Here are a few possibilities and solutions.
Fail safe
If all else fails, copy the URL (link) from your e-mail message and paste it into your brower's "location" or "address" field located at the top of the browser (under the menu buttons).
- Problem: Your browser is not "html" enabled.
Solution: Go into PREFERENCES and adjust your default boxes to active the links. - Problem: The URL (link) has wrapped to a second line in the e-mail and the browser is only reading the text on the first line. Your browser may generate an unexpected page result or error message.
Solution: To fix this, either copy and paste the complete URL into your browser (see No. 1 above) or add the missing characters to the end of the URL. - Problem: You may be using a browser version lower than 3.0 that misreads certain characters in the URL (link) and deletes them from the URL (link).
Solution: Upgrade your browser to version 3.0 or higher - Problem: Your e-mail server or Web server where the page resides is busy or there has been an interuption in the connection.
Solution: Try again later or contact your administrator to check the connection for you. - Problem: The page the URL (link) is referring to is busy, has moved, or has been deleted.
Solution: Contact the sender of the e-mail and report the error message - Problem: The original URL (link) in the e-mail is incorrect (typo).
Solution: Try again later or contact your administrator to check the connection for you.
If you cannot fix the problem or find that the problem is on the sender's end, please alert the sender of the error message that you've received.
