The MACPA has adopted the following information management guidelines, which are based on our existing policies for protecting members' privacy. These guidelines have been developed with the understanding that they may change as our online business model continues to evolve. Changes to the guidelines will be posted on this page.
When ordering, subscribing or registering for a product (including educational programs or special services such as demos, listserve services and other interactive forums) on MACPA's Web site, you may be asked to provide personal information such as:
- Name
- CPA license number
- Mailing address
- E-mail address
- Telephone number
- Fax number
To update your member record with this and other information, you may use the member profile update form.
The MACPA also uses "cookies" to help manage the security of our website and make it easier for members to access the site. The MACPA will use the information collected for internal purposes only, such as statistical analyses to assess interest in specific areas of our Web site, or to contact you by e-mail or other conventional means to keep you informed of issues, products and services.
The MACPA does not release Internet addresses or provide any other personal information to any third party, with the exception of authorized MACPA affiliates who have been engaged or endorsed by the MACPA, with approval from the MACPA Board of Directors, to provide specific services to members.
The MACPA will remove any member's name (and his or her personal information) from any mailing list or listserve upon request. To request that your name be removed from any electronic mailing list, please our member service center at memberservice@macpa.org.
The MACPA is not responsible for content or policies that may be associated with any Web site or online company to which the MACPA may be linked.
The MACPA provides listserve and other interactive forums for members. The MACPA provides suggested guidelines for appropriate and acceptable behavior while engaged in these electronic forums, and asks each participant to follow the guidelines when entering into any MACPA-sponsored listserve or interactive forum. While staff occasionally monitors these listserve and interactive forums, the MACPA is not responsible for content, discussions or opinions expressed by participants.
