Towson graduate earns one of 10 highest CPA exam scores for 2005
NEW YORK, Sept. 15, 2006 — A Towson University graduate is among the 10 winners of the AICPA's latest Elijah Watt Sells Awards, which recognize CPA candidates who have earned the highest cumulative scores on the four sections of the Uniform CPA Examination.
Adina Mitnick Hollander, a Maryland candidate from Lakewood, N.J., who works at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Baltimore, earned one of the 10 highest CPA exam scores nationwide during 2005.
Winners of the annual award must have completed testing during the previous calendar year and passed each exam section on their first attempt.
The award was created in 1923 to honor Elijah Watt Sells a year prior to his death. Sells was one of the country’s first CPAs under the provision of a New York State law enacted in 1896 and a leader in advancing professional education. He was active in the establishment of the AICPA and was a founder of New York University’s School of Commerce, Accounts and Finance.
Other award winners are:
- Steven C. Anderson of Shaker Heights, Ohio, a graduate of Case Western Reserve University who is employed by Howard, Wershbale & Co. in Cleveland.
- Melissa Bylsma of Chicago, a graduate of the University of Michigan and who works at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Chicago.
- Mark Raymond Danielson Jr., of Richardson, Texas, who attended The University of Texas at Austin and works for Ernst & Young LLP in Dallas.
- Elizabeth A. Diehl of Huntsville, Ala., a graduate of Pensacola Christian College who works for Mason Enterprises in Huntsville.
- William Harris Leder of Sugar Land, Texas, a graduate from The University of Texas at Austin who works for Ernst & Young LLP in Dallas.
- Kristin Danielle St. Raymond of Scottsdale, Ariz., a graduate of The University of Arizona who works at KPMG in Phoenix.
- Hazel M. Tucker of Park City, Utah, a graduate of the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa, the University of South Africa, the University of Pretoria and Edinburgh Business School. She is employed by INVESTools in Draper, Utah.
- Steven W. Utke of Sewell, N.J., a graduate of Bucknell University who works for Ernst & Young LLP in Philadelphia.
- Peter E. Wick of Neenah, Wisc., a graduate of the University of Wisconsin who works for Virchow Krause in Appleton, Wisc.
