What is a PDF file?
This Web site (as well as most Web sites on the Internet) uses an appion called Adobe Acrobat that converts any type of publication to a readible format to be viewed and printed by users on all platforms. The file type that this application creates is referred to as a PDF file — short for "portable document format." The PDF file essentially has "taken a picture" of each page of the document and bundled it into one user-friendly file that excludes the need to own the software that created the document.
However, the user does have to download a copy of the Acrobat Reader in order to view and print the document. This piece of software is free and can be downloaded here.
This file will be downloaded into the users' "plug-in" folder of their browser to view PDF files online. Users also will be able to access all PDF files they may encounter, such as on diskette, through an e-mail attachment, etc.
