Active member of the MACPA Southern Maryland Chapter Board since 1999, serving as president and / or secretary during those years. In July 2005, was the first woman partner admitted to GW. A 1993 magna cum laude graduate from Salisbury University. Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Greater Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants, the AICPA Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center and the Maryland Chamber of Commerce. Team captain for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer since 2005.

Notable: An MACPA member since 1984. Also a member of the AICPA and the D.C. Institute of CPAs. Winner of the MACPA’s 2005 Public Service Award. Founder and co-executive director of Learning Power, Inc., a 501C (3) corporation that operates a tutoring center for disadvantaged youth in Bowie and provides leadership training and life skills. Named Woman of the Year for 2000 by the Bowie-Crofton chapter of the Business and Professional Women’s Association. Served as vice chair on the Governor’s Commission on Hispanic Affairs from January 2004 to January 2008.

Dr. James J. McKinney, CPA, Ph.D.
Tyser Teaching Fellow, University of Maryland

Notable:MACPA historian since 2008 and co-chair of the MACPA’s Members in Education Committee for 2009. Has several years’ experience teaching financial accounting, auditing, accounting systems and fraud accounting. Has worked in public accounting, including the national auditing office of his firm and in a Fortune 500 company internal audit department. An award-winning author of accounting research, teacher and faculty advisor. Serves as faculty adviser for the student chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants. Serves as president-elect of the Academy of Accounting Historians, editor of The Accounting Historians Notebook, and regional director for the Mid-Atlantic Region Teaching and Curriculum Section of the American Accounting Section.

Current CFO of The Howard University under a contractual arrangement with Right Advisory. Previously, a partner with Price Waterhouse LLP. A director of public mutual funds sponsored by Legg Mason, Inc. A director of publically traded TeleTech Holdings Inc. and The American Kidney Fund. An audit committee financial expert. Former at-large member of the governing Council of the American Institute of CPAs and a past member of its Assurance Services Executive Committee. Holds licenses to practice accountancy in three states and the District of Columbia. Served on the Standing Advisory Group of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board and was recently appointed to its inaugural Investors Advisory Group.

Renee Winsky

Notable: At-large member of the MACPA's Board of Directors. Serving as chief executive officer of TCM since Sept. 1, 2009. Prior to joining TCM, served as president and executive director of the Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO). Among many volunteer positions, serves on the Board of the Chesapeake Innovation Center, Leadership Maryland, Maryland Health Care Product Development Corporation, and UMBC Research Park Corporation, and on the Executive Committee of the Technology Councils of North America.
