The MACPA has achieved great success in promoting the CPA brand. Through established media relations, proactive public relations efforts and statewide radio and print advertising, the MACPA has demonstrated time and time again the true value of the CPA.
Some of our recent efforts have included:
- a national print advertising campaign;
- CPA "brandwear" for our members — a line of products that promote the profession;
- a variety of other creative advertising and promotional campaigns.
Public relations
The association has made great strides in showing the public that a CPA is much more than a number-cruncher. Public service events such as our financial literacy campaign and our Career Awareness Program (during which CPAs speak to students at high schools and colleges about careers in accounting) have created a great awareness among the public of the diversity of the accounting profession and the growing role of the CPA.
In addition, the MACPA provides a free Referral Bureau service for anyone looking to hire a CPA and a free Speakers' Bureau for groups or organizations that want a CPA to speak on a financial or business-related topic.
The association also offers free brochures to the public on choosing and using a CPA, estate planning, Social Security, saving for college, small business issues and more.
