MACPA awards
Each year, the MACPA honors deserving members and instructors through a series of awards. Information and nomination forms for each of these awards is found below.
Doetsch-Hooper Outstanding Accounting Teaching Award
This award honors teaching effectiveness and innovation, student evaluations, student interaction, and other factors that signify excellence in teaching. The award also considers contributions the instructor makes to his or her institution and to professional activities.
Nominees must teach accounting on a full-time basis at a Maryland college, university or community college.

Frank Blacklock Outstanding Accounting Educator Award
This award recognizes educators for significant contributions to accounting education and the CPA profession through scholarly activities, service to the CPA profession and innovative curriculum development.

MACPA Public
Service Award
This award honors a CPA who has made a significant contribution to the community through public service. The award is based on leadership and initiative, impact on the community, time commitment to charitable and civic activities, and membership in the MACPA and AICPA.
The recipient is automatically eligible for the national public service award presented each year by the AICPA.

Max Teichmann Chairman
of the Year Award
This award recognizes the contributions of MACPA committee chairs. It is named for Max Teichmann, founder and first president of MACPA.
Each year, the MACPA's chair chooses the recipient based on the individual's leadership in accomplishing the association's strategic objectives. This award is a tribute to the dedication of these volunteer leaders and one that is highly regarded by members.
