A message from our CEO, Tom Hood
An association is all about members. At the MACPA, we value each and every member and thank you for your continued support.
Here is why your membership is so critical to the profession:
- As a CPA, you know better than most that numbers count. Your membership in the MACPA increases our ability to represent you and the CPA profession in the community where you are licensed to serve. There are plenty of special interest groups that have tried to change your profession in the last few years; we provide the strength in numbers that amplify your voice to the public and the legislative and regulatory bodies that affect your license.
- Your license and expertise help protect the public. As a CPA, you are a member of a select group of people who practice a "recognized profession" in the United States. You are licensed specifically because of the impact that your knowledge and education has on the community, or as we say, the public interest. This gives you unique privileges and responsibilities apart from those who do not have this prestigious and trusted credential. BY joining the MACPA, you are demonstrating your commitment to the highest professional standards of your chosen profession. We are the only organization founded by CPAs for CPAs in Maryland.
- Join. It is the right thing to do ...
- ... for the Maryland community you serve.
- ... for your profession.
- ... for your company, firm or organization.
- ... for your career as a CPA.
- ... for you.
Tom Hood, CPA
CEO / Executive Director, Maryland Association of CPAs
